GSKL #jointheconversation: Localising Solutions for Climate Change in Malaysia

In conjunction with the Climate Change Awareness month in November, GSKL aims to spread awareness on the importance and simple actionable steps that Malaysians can take to preserve a healthy environment. The World Economic Forum (WEF) warns that rapidly growing cities and ongoing effects of climate change are making more people vulnerable to rising sea levels in the WEF Global Risks Report 2019. The Centre for Governance and Political Studies had also recently mentioned that nine Malaysian cities that could be submerged in the next 30 years.

All of these are in light of a growing number of complex and interconnected challenges faced by the region, including Malaysia; from slowing economic growth to climate change. Climate change is threatening our livelihood and a sustainable future.

This platform is to bring the conversation to ground and to the people, to take stock of what actions have been taken and what should be done in the Malaysian context. How to incorporate these sustainable changes in our daily lives such as switching to zero-waste household items and supporting homegrown sustainable social enterprises to championing environmental policy initiatives.

So come join us in a conversation with the following panelists to learn and engage your views on this topic.
